Application Process

1. Submit the Work & Learn Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program Application found here.

2. Complete the WCC General Admission Process found here.

• New and returning WCC students must complete the general admission process, which includes: Residency Determination, FAFSA, and Scholarship forms
  
  
• Submit official transcripts to the WCC Admissions Office

3. If selected, you will be asked to complete an interview with a partnering employer.

4. If hired, you will be accepted into the program and attend a summer orientation before beginning work in August 2026.

Program Requirements

The Work & Learn Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program has a selective admissions process. 15 students are accepted with each Fall admission.

You must:

• Be at least 18 years of age by August 1, 2026. If you are less than 18 years of age, you may be eligible to apply to begin coursework while completing your diploma or GED, however local employers must abide by age-restricted state and federal hiring policies.
  
  
• A U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
  
  
• Students must commit to remain drug-free.
  
  
• Comply with Employer policies and WCC Student Code of Conduct.
  
  
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress in all courses and graduate with a 2.0 GPA.
  
  
• Achieve satisfactory work evaluations throughout the program.
  
  
• Comply with pre-employment requirements, which may include: drug screen, criminal background check, medical assessment, competency test.

Additional Notes

WCC program administration, in coordination with participating employers, reserves the right to revise or change course requirements in accordance with applicable state laws, college requirements, accreditation standards, and/or at the discretion of the Work & Learn Chapter. By accepting employment with a Work & Learn employer and admission into the program, students agree to at all times abide by the program requirements and procedures as set forth in this packet, the respective course syllabus issued at the beginning of each term for each course, and the employer protocols, policies, and procedures. The student is bound by such requirements and procedures regardless of whether they were established before or after the date of enrollment in the program. Changes made after the publication of the admission packet will be posted as a revision.

Students must achieve a GPA of 2.0 or better in order to graduate. Students must pass all courses on the first attempt: no course withdrawals or repeat attempts are permitted. Students who do not meet these requirements may be dropped from the AMT program. There are many supports and wraparound resources to encourage completion for all our students. Your success is our priority!
